The Blacksox have once again put together a strong 2012 class of signees. Over the last week, several players signed during the NCAA Div I Early Signing Period. Oklahoma State University was the main benefactor, signing 5 Blacksox players. They will join former Blacksox teammate (and current OSU player) Gage Green in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
All of these signings should make things quite interesting at the Big XII baseball tournament over the next few years. Aside from the huge Blacksox presence at OSU, there are also a handful of former 'Sox playing for Texas Tech. Most notably, Shane Broyles and Brannon Easterling. Both guys look to play a big role on the Red Raiders pitching staff this spring. Joey Zurawik (who also signed last week) will join them in Lubbock next year.
Several Blacksox players are now playing in the Big XII, with more on the way. We could not be more proud of all of our players. Every one of our 2012 signees have worked hard and are very deserving of the opportunity to play college baseball. Aside from being great baseball players, they are also great character guys as well.
See you in Bricktown. I'll be the guy sitting behind homeplate, smiling from ear to ear.
